I have 2 AGM, 36 AH, size U1 batteries that are down to zero volts. Hooking one to a 13.6 V power source for a few days resulted in a voltage of about 2 V with the power source disconnected. I now have it hooked to a charger that hits it with about 26 V every 10 seconds. After a day or so, I see that the voltage sags down to about 3 V (instead of the previous 2 V) in between pulses. Is there any hope for these batteries? I have been able to recover deeply-discharged flooded lead-acid batteries, but AGM is tricky. At least they are made in Taiwan (not Mainland China), so the quality might be better.

If I can recover one of these, I will then start on the other. They're probably toast, but I have a link on another computer to a project to build a desulfator for SLA batteries. I'm not sure how this would work with AGM chemistry.
I've been meaning to post it here to get some opinions as to whether it's snake-oil or not, so I'll get to it later tonight. This site also had a plan for a simple charger for basket-case SLA cells. It consists of a rectifier with a motor run capacitor in series with the load. This current-limits charging, but not voltage. There's a formula for determining the correct capacitance to use to get a given current from the charger. The voltage can go as high as 115V on a 115V circuit. It's pulsed DC at 60 120Hz, if I recall correctly.
I've used the latter contraption with some success to rejuvenate iffy SLA cells. How long have the batteries been sitting deeply discharged? If the batteries have been sitting for a significant amount of time in a deeply discharged state, they are probably beyond any hope of recovery. This is true even for 'deep-cycle' rated batteries. Generally speaking, discharging an AGM baterry below about 11.5V (no-load voltage) is bad for the battery, and even worst is letting it sit in such an excessive deep-discharge condition for a period of time. Even in normal usage scenario, AGM batteries should be recharged as promptly as possible following a deep discharge to maximize the battery life. Sulfation occurs rather rapidly when an AGM battery sits in a discharged state.
That being said, I've never been able to recover any kind of usable capacity from an AGM battery that has been run down to 0V. I thought all the info I was thinking of was in one place. It turns out some of it isn't even 'up' any more. Here's a Wayback Machine link to the part of the info I haven't been able to test yet. It's either really useful or it's snake oil.
I lean toward the 'useful' camp. I've been meaning to build this for years and haven't gotten around to it. Hxxp://web.archive.org/web/5019/EDIT: Broke this on purpose because it doesn't work right from DSLR for some unknown reason. Copy and paste into a browser and substitute t's for the x's.
The link you provided returns a message that Wayback Machine does not have that page archived. Persistent medical problems make it hard for me to construct stuff right now. Pain in the leg makes it difficult to concentrate on ANYTHING. Maybe in the future. Plus, the best nurse was not on duty this morning- seeing her smiling face always boosts my spirits (they REALLY need a boost right now). Numerous studies have shown that a patient's state of mind can affect their recovery. Hopefully she will be there tomorrow.
May not be able to make it until then without going to the ER (takes up HOURS of time). Said by: Is there any hope for these batteries? I have been able to recover deeply-discharged flooded lead-acid batteries, but AGM is tricky. My DIY method is similar to advice from Hot Rod magazine article: » Here's all you need to do: Grab another car battery with a decent charge on it (12.4 volts or better) and connect it in parallel to the problem battery using a set of jumper cables. Autocad mac keygen download crack. Then activate the charger and charge the battery normally, being careful to follow the manufacturer's instructions for current and voltage limits. It's as simple as that. The second battery supplies the voltage that tricks the charger into supplying the necessary current. After an hour or so, you can remove the second battery and continue charging.
We tried it and it works. No matter how deep the discharge we applied, we were able to bring the battery back to a full state of charge using our cheap but trusty bulk charger. I've used the 'buddy' method for weak cells.
It works up to a certain point. Beyond that, the internal resistance of the battery+sulfate is too high. That's where you want the capability to hit it with up to 115VDC pulsed at 120Hz at a low current to break the sulfate loose. As the internal resistance drops, so does the voltage because only the current is regulated; if it shorts out, it drops to zero and doesn't fry the circuit.
Eventually you get down to about 11.5V and the battery begins to take a charge. I had success with this; I have the smart charger for my AGM's (2.12 Volt, 72 AH) - somehow batteries zero's out.
(I'd blame a worker for leaving a circuit closed over a long period of time, thus zeroing out the batteries) Whatever the case, the 1 battery was 0 volts and wouldn't charge, the other battery did charge a bit, but only to 10 volts (the charger levelled off too quickly as it thought they were full), so basically useless. We had a new set of AGM's laying around, so we used them for an hour or so to drain them to about 20% - hooked them in parallel to the smart charger - we got the one battery to 12.8 volts (The one that was 0) and the other one to 13.0 volts. We then used the good batteries again, drained them until 20%, and recharged. This time the voltage returned to 13.2 volts for both batteries. We then discharged those batteries (only got about 30% capacity) and also the good batteries.
And redid the process. Anyway, doing this about 12 x we got the 'bad' batteries back up to about 90% capacity at 13.7 volts & about 65 AH. (and a robust 12.4 volts under load) Not bad. Time consuming?
The time spent would have probably covered the costs for new batteries. However, we have co-op students that come in, so if this happens again, this is their job.
Post by Velsneed I'm not talking about players that are just plain bad, those guys are everywhere. I'm talking about things even average or good players sometime do that just annoy the heck out of you.

Here's mine: 1. Ungrateful players: If I'm helping you with a quest that does not benefit me, be thankful. Do not start barking orders and definitely do not yell at me for stopping to mine. Overly Cautious Tanks: That's super dooper that you want to mark every pull, explain it, then get maximum CC. But, when I have time to go have a cigarette between each pull you're just annoying me. I'm glad you're thinking of us but we really don't need max mana and all cooldowns to fight some trash.
Death Knights: All I have to say about you is.No, I'd rather not have 3-4 DK's in every single group, there are just too dang many of you. Greedy Players: Alright so you're having a great run, you've won rolls on two upgrades plus more than your fair share of green junk to sell on the AH. Don't you think you can pass on that last roll so I can have just one upgrade?Nope, didn't think so. Post by helliondoom 1. Players that never stop jumping around.
Look like a chiwawa on speed. DKs that blow up every mob corpse. People that never stop talking/typing in vent and chat.
People that go afk constantly. People that offer duels without warning and when there is extreme level differences. I'm on a level 10 alt and a level 34 runs up and wants to duel. My responce is always ' Are you retarded, or just plain stupid.'
People that think its fun to swim around your bobber when you are trying to fish. The jerks that mount up around the Naxx summon stone. also the ones that run circles around stone for 10 minutes. 2 Tauren and 1 orc running around stone make it hard to target stone/portal sometimes. Miners that race you to node and /emote and talk smack because they got the ore.
Very immature, just get your ore and move on. Half the time you dont see them until you are trying to swing the axe anyway, so it's not like you are trying to race them in first place. People that try to PUG heroics, and worse, Naxx25, in mid 70 greens, blues, and Kara purples. People that only speak l33t and use words like, Scrub, Nub, noob, L2b, QQ, Moar, wut, z, Terribad.
CAPS LOCK commandos. People that spam DPS meters after every trash pull. People that run in raids, but don't have vent. People that use 'Sorry, I lagged' for excuses for everything.
People that complain about guild recruiting in /2 trade, because they wanna see only their messages about anal, chuck Norris, Obama, religion, general down talk on newer players asking questions, etc. The people that brag about having 6k dps and anything below is because 'you can't play.' Maybe its just my server, but anyone in a raid that puts up 3-3.5k gets compliments from everyone and get put on alot of people's friends lists. I've seen people say they have '4k dps' on a fight in same group as me, and my recount is showing them at like 2k dps for that fight. Must be a Epeen Meter addon out there somewhere that inflats numbers to make you feel good?

Players that are lvl 80 and don't know what gear to /roll on in a raid. How does a lvl 80 hunter think that he needs a str/expertise ring? People that join a group and don't bother heading to zone.
'you got a lock, just summon me when you get inside.' People that dont bother trying to keep gear atleast minimally gemmed/enchanted. Minimal gems and enchants are cheap, get them and it will help speed up future runs to get your upgrades. Level 80 players of opposite faction that camp low level towns. 80 Belf DK sitting at Darkshore FP killing flightmaster as she respawns for a hour and laughing at level 12-20 players that waiting to use her, on a pve server no less. Wasting my time leveling my alts, because I have to get my main and travel here to kill the tard. People that can't follow directions in a group.
'please don't loot until the dead are rezed.' Then someone goes and loots anyway.
Its not hard to follow RL directions; doesn't matter if you think the dead will get their loot when they rez, the RL gave a direction and you didnt follow. Level 80's with no gold. People in raid with no gold to repair their red items? Beggers in main cities.

They spend 3 hours begging people for gold, instead of running outside for a couple hours and looting their own gold. Beggers con't, Beggers that won't take no for an answer, so they keep spamming trade while you are trying to get mail, or browse AH. People that advertise their AH list in trade. Not bad if its a few nice items.
But when they advertise 30 green items all at once. They buy/farm stacks and stacks of an item, then list it as 200 singles in AH. I needed Dream dust, I had to buy 5 ah pages worth of singles. Between AH clicking and Refreshing mailbox, I wasted 40-45 minutes buying 200+ dream dust from ah. I might be a bit overboard, but then again I dont like people to begin with. Post by Rologton Yes, ill agree with the DPS meter thing.
Its really annoying. Imho, as long as the things are dead, who cares who did the most damage? People who wont listen to advice. But that goes without saying. A looooong time ago when my rogue was a lower level, i did SFK for the first time. There was another underleveled twink who was 18 who did the run just to raise that extra level, a rogue, and a tauren druid.
The rogue never stealthed and tried to do pulls. He would get in slowly and run back when he drew agro. Him being lower leveled, he always pulled waaay to much. We wiped three times because of him, and after every pull our healer (who was an absolute saint for not kicking the guy) had to drink. Then the druid was the worst. Every time, EVERY &.!@ING TIME, i rolled on something he would QQ and call me a!@#$ing noob.
Whenever i rolled greed on greens he started and i said that i could sell it so i rolled greed, and he starts going on and on about how you cant roll on everything, and at the same time he got at least 60% of all of the drops. I only needed once on something that was an obvious upgrade, and he QQd about how i didnt ask to need. At this point, our heals got fed up with him and kicked him because, and she said it, i was the only one in the group that could have used it anyway, so there was no point in asking. Then there was a time when i did RFD.
I got invited, saw a druid and thought he was heals. The group decided that we didnt nead a friking healer! After our first wipe i asked who the healer was, and do you know what the tank said? 'A real tank doesnt need a healer!' I left the group right then and there. So yeah, basically the people that are outwardly annoying and people that dont play their class properly, thus screwing all of us over.
Post by JamieTheRed As a healer there are a few things that annoy me, and when I say a few I mean a near infinite list, but for now I think i'll just name a few. WARLOCKS that after a pull or bossfight, stand still and spam lifetap. They're basically taking my mana bar from me and giving it to themselves, as they demand healing. Or atleast they would be if I healed them anymore. I also used to get annoyed on Kazro'gal when, as an Elemental Shaman, I would cry my eyes out, and warlocks would just stand still lifetapping.

2) Melee DPS that don't carry food around with them. After a long bossfight made longer due to their death, do I really have the mana or patience to heal them to full health AFTER having wasted 3k mana on a res?
3) People that think that because they have good gear or they are in a good guild, it negates the necessity of conscious playing. I mean I know wrath heroics are easy, but just because you have 3/5 Valourous, please don't presume that you can stand still, in the fire, spamming two until you die or my mana bar dies from having to heal you so heavily. 4) Paladin healers. I'm sorry in advanced for this, because I know i'm wrong, but to me just targetting the MT, spamming flash of light, falling asleep and coming top of healing seems devoid of any insentive to play at all. Post by Arathian People that after you invited them in your group for HoL for dps random and that are 76 lvl because you were desperate, ask you to give them leader. You trust them and give them and then they kick you(79 lvl)to inv their fricking 74 lvl friend! And it is a godamn actuall case.I w/ the other group and they left group and went with me back again(we found a 80 hunter 2 mins after and started)AND after that he w/ you and tells you you are an a$$hole and that you steal HIS! Group!(ty god agt works fine:)). Post by redsox1918 1.
People who don't know what you're class can do. When I first started my dk, i was in a group for the ramps and a hunter/huntard asks me, 'Where's your shield?' Then he asks, 'Are you frost?'
Then I booted him, to the delight of the other dk in the group. People who don't know how to play their class. I mean really, you'd think after 80 levels and getting into heroics and raids, you'd have some inkling how to play your class. People who complain about the healer. I'm not even a healer and this drives me insane.
If you're do too much dps and you pull agro, it's obviously not the healer's fault you die. People who corpse camp.
This is including my faction. I'm sure you have better things to do than gank someone for 2 hours.
